LAHORE – The Lahore High Court was told by the Punjab Government that it could not put ban the trainees’ plane flights in the residential areas as it was the matter of the Civil Aviation Authority that worked under the federal government.Provincial law officer submitted the reply of home secretary in the court of Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik and said that the federal government could ban these flights over the residential areas. The Deputy Attorney General appeared and sough time to take instruction from the federal government. The court directed the DAG to make sure the reply by federal government till April 20 as it was a sensitive matter.Advocate Ishtiaq Chaudhary submitted that the flights of the trainees’ jets were not allowed over the residential areas but this was being done. He contended many people had lost their lives owing to the planes’ crash in these areas. The petitioner pointed out that area where an incident took place some days ago was non-residential area but now it had converted into very congested and populated area of the City.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
