Shahbaz takes swipe at sit-ins again

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has held that the PTI government in KPK wasted billions of rupees on, what he calls, useless sit-ins, instead of helping the IDPs of North Waziristan.
Talking to the PML-N members in Punjab and National Assembly on Saturday, the chief minister said that the protesters also displayed worst apathy towards flood affectees. He added that people would never forgive Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri for their ‘disinterest’ towards country’s development.
Shahbaz Sharif also said that the PML-N government, under the dynamic leadership of Nawaz Sharif, was determined to steer the country out of crises. The recent visit of the prime minister to China was containing big steps for the country’s development and would leave a positive impact on the economy, he added.
He further said that serious steps were being taken for making up the loss caused to the economy due to the recent sit-ins.
“Those, who are misleading the people, will never succeed in their nefarious designs,” Shahbaz Sharif hoped.
Separately, CM Shahbaz Sharif has said that work is underway in 18 districts to provide clean water under Saaf Pani Project. He said after completion of the first phase rest of the districts would have clean water under the Project which has been started with billions of rupees. He said this while presiding over a high level meeting which reviewed progress on Saaf Pani Project.
He said that provision of potable water to the masses is responsibility of the state and government will discharge this responsibility at every cost. This mega project of public welfare will be completed speedily to ensure availability of drinking water to every citizen. Shahbaz Sharif said water filtration plants will be installed under Saaf Pani Project and this important project will be furthered speedily. He said that Saaf Pani Sahulat Centers will be set up under Saaf Pani Project and jobs will be provided to the local youth for running these centers. CEO Saaf Pani Company informed about the salient features of the project.
