LAHORE - Former national champions Pakistan Air Force and Roma Sabzazar sunned better known opposition to move to last eight of 4th All Pakistan Rana Sajjad Memorial Football Tournament at College Ground, Faisalabad Road, Jaranwala. Under Qazi Asifs classical coaching, PAF eliminated DHA Vehari 2-0 with goals in each session. The winners opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Muhammad Pervez did the job of captaincy. He dashed through the middle, side-stepped two defenders and hammered the ball in. PAF led 1-0 at interval and added second three minutes from time through Amir Khan who punished a defensive blunder. Having services of Asian Cupper Siddiq Qadri, Roma did well to hold energetic Usmania Club of Jaranwala scoreless. In order to resolve the issue, both the teams were asked to try luck on tie-break that ended 3-2 in favor of Lahore outfit. Roma will now take on Punjab Police. The referees for the matches were Rana Naseer Ahmed, Shahid Rasheed, Shahid Hussain, Nasir Habib, Abdul Jabbar and Aleem Ahmed.
