LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said the government has been making all-out efforts benefit people from Ramazan Package.
“Flour, ghee, pulses sugar and other essential items are being provided to citizens at cut prices, he said while addressing a meeting of Provincial Price Control Committee through video link.
He directed public reps to continue paying visits to Ramazan bazaars. The chief minister said that the purpose of setting up of 345 Ramazan bazaars in the province is to provide relief to the people in the holy month.
He said that he is also visiting Ramazan bazaars of various cities besides personally monitoring supply of essential commodities as well as their quality and prices under Ramazan package.
The Chief Minister said that the biggest Ramazan Package in the history of the province has been announced while a subsidy of five billion rupees has been given for Ramazan bazaars.
Shahbaz said that he gives top priority to the interest of the people and in view of this fact, stern action is being taken against hoarders and profiteers. He said that no one will be allowed to exploit the masses. The CM directed Provincial Price Control Committee to keep a watchful eye without any discrimination. He said that quality of vegetables and fruits should also be improved in Ramazan bazaars as well as open market.
He said due to effective steps, the prices of essential items were stabilised and supply of fruits, vegetables and other edible items have considerably improved in Ramazan bazaars. Lawmakers and officials attended the meeting.
