Class 1 students join LWMC drive


LAHORE - Alliance Grammar School Sabzazar class one students Wednesday joined hands with Lahore Waste Management Company in its Zero Waste Campaign activity in Model Bazaar Sabzazar. These little kids distributed waste bags on behalf of the company so that the surroundings can be kept clean and general public can realise its role in maintaining cleanliness. This market awareness activity was the kick start of “Market-based Awareness Plan” of LWMC under which all big and small markets will be cleaned and provided proper waste disposal facilities. The model bazaar of Sabzazar was cleaned by some 110 sanitary workers under the supervision of LWMC operations team and MPA Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmad.
OZPAK’s mechanical sweeper cleaned the area roads and some 30 trips of waste were made through waste carrying vehicles of LWMC to give area a neat look.
The students and the area residents along with market committee president Mehr Muhammad Javed also went from door to door to give leaflets based on awareness. The market committee president termed it a welcome step of the company for creating awareness in traders’ community. LWMC installed a waste bin in the market to reinforce the significance of bin usage for waste free environment.
Lahore Waste Management Company was represented by Zonal officer Aslam Bhatti, Assistant Manager Communication Christina Patras, Sidra Rasheed, Muhammad Awais and Assistant Manager Operations Farrukh Saeed.
