Security guard kills driver

LAHORE A desperate security guard shot dead a 26-year-old driver over a minor dispute here outside a shopping mall at Link Road Model Town, police said on Thursday. The police said that the security guard Agha Shabbir opened fire on Safdar Ali after they exchanged harsh words over a minor issue. The killer was working as the security guard at the United Mobile phone shop of one Haris Ali while the deceased was the driver of the same shop owner. On the day of incident, as the driver Safadr Ali dropped the children of the shop owner at home from their school and reached the shop, the security guard exchanged harsh words with him over some minor issue. He got infuriated and opened fire on the driver. The security guard along with the gun managed to escape from the scene in the broad daylight and in the presence of a number of people. The driver sustained bullet wounds and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The Laiqatabad police reached the spot soon after the incident and removed the body of the man, identified as a resident of Syed Wala, to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating. The police have also registered the case against the guard.
