Bilawal to join relief activities in Punjab

LAHORE - The PPP’s Patron-in-Chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would be visiting flood-hit areas of Punjab very soon to distribute relief goods among the victims.
Party’s central Punjab President, Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo announced this in a meeting of PPP’s Punjab executive council here. Divisional coordinators, districts and tehsil presidents and ticket holders attended the meeting.
Manzoor Wattoo apprised the participants of his recent meetings with the party heads in Karachi where he had gone to receive relief goods from the PPP’s Patron-in-Chief.
Manzoor further told the meeting that he briefed Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto about the flood devastations in Gujranwala and Faisalabad divisions and underscored the urgency of supplying tents to them on urgent basis. The Co- chairman immediately issued instructions to purchase tents worth Rs.50 million for distribution among the shelter less people in the flood calamity areas, he added.
Wattoo appreciated the generous donations by the party high command and said that the arrival of fifty trucks of relief goods would greatly help the flood victims. He added that the two leaders also assured him in no uncertain terms that hundreds of trucks of relief goods would follow after the distribution of the initial fifty truck loads. .“We have to evolve a mechanism for the efficient distribution of the relief goods to the people at such a large scale”, he observed.
He lauded the donation of a mobile dispensary for Chinot city by Inam-ul- Haq Dogar meant for providing medical facilities to the flood affectees. He said PPP Punjab would also commence mobile medical facilities on a wider scale in the flood-hit districts to stop the spread of diseases after the floods.
