GCU appreciated for securing 11 positions

Lahore - Old Ravians Union (ORU) Tuesday congratulated Government College University, Lahore Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman, faculty members and students on securing the first two and overall 11 positions in the Lahore Board Intermediate Examinations 2014.
According to press statement, ORU President Kamran Lashari, Secretary Advocate Mian Muhammad Ahmad Chhachhar and Qazi Afaq and said that that teachers and students of Ravian community really worked hard over the last 150 years to establish the glorious traditions of academic leadership at GCU.
They said that Old Ravians across the world would continue to make their best possible efforts for the development of GCU.
 PU declares BCom Part I result
The PU Examinations Department has declared the results of Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) Part-I annual examinations 2014.
According to details, candidates appeared in B.Com Part-I 45739 and pass percentage is 35.54. Boys appeared 27262 boys appeared while 18477 girls passed the examination.
Boys pass percentage is 28.06 while girls pass percentage is 46.57.

PU awards 4 PhD degrees
The Punjab University has awarded four PhD degrees to the scholars on Tuesday.
The scholars who were awarded the degrees included Muhammad Zafar s/o Aman Ullah in the subject of Zoology after approval of his thesis entitled “Developmental Anomalies Induced by Bifenthrin in Mice”, Rizwan Yousaf s/o Muhammad Yousaf in the subject of Molecular Biology after approval of his thesis entitled “Generation of DFNMI Knockdown Transgenic Mouse Model Using RNA Interference”, Maliha Shamim d/o Muhammad Shamim in the subject of South Asian Studies after approval of her thesis entitled “Hindu Fundamentalism: Its Impact on Politics of India 1992-2008” and Asif Hamid s/o Muhammad Hamid in the subject of Urdu after approval of his thesis entitled “Qayam-e-Pakistan Kay B’ad Urdu Main Maktoob Nigari (Tehqiqi o Tanqidi Jaiza)”.
