Funeral in absentia for Peshawar pearls

LAHORE - Funeral prayers in absentia for the martyrs of Peshawar tragedy was offered at Badshahi Mosque on Wednesday.
Badshahi Mosque Khateeb Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad led the prayers. Acting Punjab Governor Rana Iqbal, Deputy Speaker Sher Ali Gorchani, Provincial Ministers Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Dr Farrukh Javed, Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Chaudhry Shafique, Chaudhry Sher Ali, Asif Saeed Manhais, Malik Taveer Aslam, Rana Maqbool Ahmed, Khawaja Salman Rafique, Assembly Members, Chief Secretary Naveed Akram Cheema, Provincial Secretaries, IG Punjab, CCPO Lahore, Commissioner and District Coordination Officer Lahore as well as a large number of people were present. Fateha was also offered for the departed souls.
Also, the PTI offered funeral prayers in absentia across Punjab. PTI leaders, Saloni Bokhari, Talat Naqvi, Bushra Khalid Hayat Bhatti, Sadia Sohail, Dr Farooq Chisti, Ahmed Ali Derashek, Malik Sheahzad, Mumtaz Kahloon and others attended the event. Insaf Student Federation (ISF) organised a candle-lit vigil event at Liberty Chowk and Faisal Chowk. Women wing of party’s provincial chapter held a special Quran Khawani event.
Meanwhile, PML-Q Punjab chapter offered fateha khawani at Muslim League House for the martyrs Peshawar’s tragic incident. PML-Q Punjab president Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi said on this occasion that this was a national tragedy, which was unparalleled in the entire history.
He said that even in a war innocent children were not targeted, attack on the school was attack on the future of Pakistan, while the entire nation was united in these hard times.
Prominent among the party leaders present on this occasion include Moonis Elahi, Shahid Manzoor Gill, Khurrum Munawwar Manj and Muhammad Khan Leghari.
