LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that elimination of terrorism is essential if the country has to be purged of this menace once for all.
Talking to media men on Wednesday, the chief minister said that now it should be decided forever that there should be no difference between good and bad terrorists. He said that the process of consultation with national leaders by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would prove a milestone for eliminating terrorism from the country.
“Demonstration of unity and cooperation extended by national leaders for elimination of terrorism from the country is commendable in every respect. Elimination of terrorism is the first and last priority of the entire nation. We should be ready for fighting war of Pakistan by setting aside personal differences,” the CM held.
He said we would win war of Pakistan by displaying exemplary unity, consensus and solidarity. He said that all political, religious and civil society leaders would have to come forward with unity for providing a safe and peaceful Pakistan to new generations. He said that the war of 18 crore people and Pakistan will be won at every cost by defeating terrorism.
Shahbaz Sharif said that Pak Army had rendered invaluable sacrifices in the war against terrorism and more than forty thousand army officers, jawans, police officers, officials and citizens had sacrificed their lives for the motherland. He said that we all would have to be united for rooting out terrorism and extremism which was enemy number one of Pakistan and its practical demonstration has been witnessed in Peshawar today.
Earlier, when Shahbaz Sharif arrived at Peshawar Airport, KPK Governor Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, Chief Minister Pervaiz Khatak and office-bearers of PML-N welcomed him. A meeting was held between Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Chief Minister KPK Pervaiz Khatak.
Talking to Pervaiz Khatak, Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan could not be saved without unity. He said that if we were not united, irreparable loss could be caused to the country. Khatak said that agreed with Shahbaz Sharif and we had to save the country. He said that the need of unity today was much more than ever. He assured to extend full cooperation for creating atmosphere of unity.
Shahbaz Sharif said that terrorists displayed brutality by killing innocent children in Army Public School Peshawar the other day and every citizen of the country is shocked and grieved over this tragic and heartrending incident. He said that the beasts who killed innocent children and teachers would not escape deterrent punishment. He said that the menace of terrorism would be eliminated through unity and solidarity.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif visited CMH Peshawar and inquired after the students and teachers injured in the worst incident of terrorism. He went to each injured person and prayed for his early recovery. Provincial Minister for Home Shuja Khanzada also accompanied the chief minister.
Meanwhile, Shahbaz Sharif has welcomed the announcement by PTI Chairman Imran Khan to end sit-in. The chief minister said that Pakistan belonged to all of us and we have to save it with collective efforts. He said that the country could be rid of terrorism and extremism through the power of unity.
