Fraudster-bride stumps third husband

LAHORE - Another marriage venture through 'zarurat-e-rishta advertisement has become a tale of bitter fiasco, fraud, cheating and litigation between two parties. The marriage ended after just 15 days and the UK-returned husband lost his wealth and property and now had been facing life threats. A UK returned Pakistani Amir Shahzad addressing a Press conference here Sunday at the Press Club claimed that he retuned Pakistan after 12 years and had the desire to find a life partner after the death of his former wife. He said he married Faiqa Hafeez, daughter of late SP Abdul Hafeez, through an advertisement in a Urdu newspaper. In just first 15 days of the wedding, his new wife Faiqa deprived him of his 15,000 pound sterling, Iqbal Town residence and 20 tola gold jewelry. Besides, she got registered fake criminal cases against him in the Iqbal Town Police Station. The police are supporting Faiqa Hafeez as she is the daughter of the late SP. Giving details, Amir Shahzad said I gave an advertisement on July 5, 2009 in a Urdu newspaper for zarurat-e-rishta (spouse needed). Faiza responded to this advertisement and after 15 days on July 17, 2009 they got married. Amir Shahzad said he was father of 6 children but he wanted to marry as his children were grown and he felt lonely. Surriya Perveen, mother of Faiqa Hafeez, had told him that her daughter was unmarried but later it was revealed that she had been divorced from two men. After marriage, the family of Faiqa got duplicate key of the house and took away everything including passport when he was away. Police are not registering FIR saying that it is family matter despite the fact that she has deprived him of all his belongings, he said. Amir Shahzad making an appeal to the Chief Justice of Pakistan said that Iqbal Town police are not cooperating with him, and undue support was being given to Faiqa Hafeez. He said he was on bail and his life was in danger. He demanded that case of theft and fraud be registered against his ex-wife and his belongings be retuned to him.
