LAHORE The City witnessed one of the worst traffic jams here with motorists remained trapped on the leading arteries for several hours as the traffic wardens were found absent from their duty points. However, no traffic jam was observed near Governor House, Chief Ministers House and Seven Club where traffic wardens efficiently diverted the motorists on service roads. Some of the motorists however appealed to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) SSP Syed Ahmed Mubeen that the wardens who are deployed near aforementioned three places should be deployed on each point of the City. They said no traffic jam was observed at the aforesaid points. Traffic Police remained helpless throughout Monday when the City witnessed worst gridlock on The Mall where hundreds of motorists were seemed trapped in traffic mess. A couple of ambulances were also stuck in traffic jams near National College of Arts where no traffic warden was present. Interesting scenes witnessed near Old University Chowk when two police officers of Lahore Police took the positions and started discharging their duties as traffic officers. A motorist however claimed the police officers rescued their own police van and left the miserable motorists in mess. What the hell is this no warden is here. Such inexperienced wardens have been deliberately failed to handle traffic, complained a few motorists who got stuck in the traffic jams on The Mall, Chairing Cross, China Chowk, Jail Road, Walton Road, Ferozepur Road, Data Darbar Chowk, Safanwala Chowk, Hamdarad Chowk, Chouburgi, Morr Samanabad, Qartaba Chowk, Shama Chowk, Ichhra, Kalma Chowk, and Ravi Road.
