CM fumes at dillydallying over power project

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Saturday presided over a meeting on the construction of Tuansa Hydo power project.
The Chief Minister while expressing strong indignation for not taking necessary steps on Taunsa hydro power project reprimanded the concerned officials during the meeting.
He said that those who did not take timely steps with regard to this project have neither realized the problems of the people nor their responsibility. He said that those showing negligence in this project have no right to remain on their posts.
The Chief Minister directed that Nespak should take immediate steps for furthering this project and all concerned departments and institutions will assist NESPAK in this regard.
He directed to constitute a steering committee with regard to solar, hydel and LNG energy projects and added that he himself would be the head of the steering committee and it will hold meeting every week in which progress on these projects will be discussed.
Chairman Planning & Development, Additional Chief Secretary Energy, Chairman Punjab Power Development Company Arif Saeed, Managing Director Nespak and concerned officials attended the meeting.
Separately talking to legislators from various districts, the CM said the nation was unitied against terrorism. “We have to win the war of survival and stability of the country at any cost. The goal of development and prosperity of the country cannot be achieved without peace. Peace is vital for the promotion of socio-economic, trade activities and investment. Decisive war against terrorists is being fought,” he added.
