Minister promises jobs for dentists


PESHAWAR  -   Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health and Information Shaukat Ali Yousafazi has assured the BDS doctors that the PTI government will do its level best to provide them jobs and increasing the number of seats for specialisation in dentistry.
He gave this assurance while talking to a delegation of the BDS doctors, which called on him at his office in Peshawar on Wednesday. Dean Postgraduate Medical Institute Prof. Dr Akhtar Ali was also present on the occasion.
The members of the delegation told the minister that there was only one College of Dentistry Peshawar in the whole province, which was not sufficient to cover all the graduates from that college. They demanded that dentistry departments should also be established in all the big hospitals in the province.
The minister said that they knew the problems of doctors and those attached with medical profession and efforts were underway to solve all their difficulties on priority basis.
However, he said that all policies of the government had been focused on the betterment and well-being of the layman and they were committed to give priority to the welfare of general masses.
Shoukat Yousafzai said that the government was very sincere in bringing drastic changes in all departments, including health and that was why working groups had been established in the health, education, science and information technology and local bodies sectors.
He said those working groups had been asked to finalise their reports and give their recommendations by July 25 positively.
He said before coming to power the PTI leaders had done a lot of homework in the health and education sectors and to make it more better the working groups had been motivated. He said to make the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa free of corruption they had a solid programme and would implement the slogan of change.
Referring to the problems of the BDS doctors, the minister directed for convening a high level meeting of the department so that their problems could be discussed in it and solved out as well. He also asked the members of the delegation to prepare themselves for the said meeting and give viable recommendations in connection with their grievances.
