CM for ensuring foolproof security

LAHORE - Issuing instructions for ensuring foolproof security arrangements in the province on the occasion of Eidul Fitr, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that protection of life and property of citizens is the prime responsibility of police and it should take all out steps for this purpose.
He said that foolproof security of mosques, imambargahs and Eid congregations should be ensured at any cost and police should perform its duties with commitment and efficiency.
The chief minister also issued instructions to Inspector General Police Punjab and senior police officers of the province to ensure foolproof security arrangements on Chand Raat and Eidul Fitr and said that additional force should be deputed in shopping centres, plazas and markets while special attention should be paid to the security of mosques, imambargahs and Eid congregations. Shahbaz Sharif further directed that the security plan evolved for Eid should be fully implemented and concerned institutions should perform their duties with excellent coordination. He said that police authorities should remain in the field for reviewing security arrangements and warned that no laxity would be tolerated regarding security arrangements on Eid.
The chief minister further directed that the ban on display of firearms should be strictly implanted while police officers should remain alert and maintain a close contact. He said that security arrangements for Eid congregations should be foolproof as the present situation demands that law enforcement agencies should perform their duties in an efficient manner.
Shahbaz Sharif said that a watchful eye should be kept on miscreants and criminal elements should be rooted out. He said that the country is passing through a critical phase therefore the situation demands emergent measures.
He said that there is a heavy responsibility on police and law enforcement agencies in the existing situation. He said that Punjab government will continue to take all possible measures for the protection of life and property of people.
