LAHORE - Following the directives of Punjab chief minister, a vigorous campaign against profiteering is continuing. As many as 1,525 Price Control Magistrates checked 314 Ramzan Bazaars and arrested 132 shopkeepers on profiteering and hoarding and 112 cases were registered them in concerned police stations. The magistrates also recovered a fine of Rs2.2million from the shopkeepers. Maximum fine of Rs5,65,000 was recovered from the shopkeepers on violations in Rahim Yar Khan whereas minimum fine of Rs1,900 was imposed in District Jhang. Officials of Industry and Labor departments checked weight and measures of 1993 shopkeepers and weight and measures of 200 shopkeepers were found short. Rice was sold at Rs76 per kg at Agriculture Fair Price Shop in Ramzan Bazaars
Dal Garam was sold at Rs80 per kg, potato at Rs13, onion at Rs34, lady figure at Rs23 per kg.
Sehri and Aftaari were provided to 163,521 persons at 1,814 Madni Dastarkhwans set up in the province which included 9,364 women and 154,157 men.
LHC roster for next week: The Lahore High Court Friday constituted 9 division and 32 single benches for its principal seat for the next week commencing after Eidul Fitr holidays from July 21.
Two division and seven single benches have been constituted for Rawalpindi bench. Two division and four single benches have been constituted for Multan while, two division benches and three single benches have been constituted for Bahawalpur seat to hear the cases.
Meanwhile, the interviews of the remaining interviewees for the post of civil judges will be conducted on July 24 instead of July 21 due to Eid holidays.
