PAT, PTI protest over Model Town Tragedy

LAHORE - Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Wednesday jointly staged a protest demonstration and sit-in outside Punjab Assembly against Model Town incident.
Opposition leader Punjab assembly Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, PTI MPAs Sabtain Khan, Murad Ras, Muhammad Asif, Dr Nosheen, who were wearing black bands around their arms, visited the PAT sit-in camp at Faisal Chowk and extended their support for the families of Model Town victims. Dozens of protestors of both parties holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans against Punjab government vowed to continue protest until the justice was not met to the families of the victims.
Mehmoodur Rasheed, speaking on occasion, said the JIT report about the incident had been prepared on direction of the Punjab government and it gave clean chit to the real culprits.
Clerks still on roads
All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) on Wednesday staged a protest on The Mall and outside Punjab Assembly in Lahore, demanding to increase salaries by 50 percent.
The demonstrators were holding banners and placards; chanted slogans against the government. They also demanded of the government to revise pay scales of the government workers.
They further threatened countrywide strikes if their legitimate demands were not met. The APCA office bearers also addressed the gathering.
Leader of the opposition in Punjab Assembly and PTI leader Mian Mehmood ul Rasheed also addressed the APCA gathering and showed solidarity with them. He said that the demands of the poor clerks must be fulfilled so that they could perform their official duties wholeheartedly.
