PST demands action against banned outfits


LAHORE – Pakistan Sunni Tehreek (PST) staged a ‘Tahafuz-e-Namoos-e-Risalat’ demonstration in front of Lahore Press Club on Sunday.
Addressing the protesters, PST leader Maulana Mujahid Abdur Rasool Khan said that Pakistani minorities including Christians enjoyed complete protection. He said that sans action against the banned outfits, the dream of peace could not be fulfilled in Punjab.
He said attack on Joseph Colony was a planned conspiracy to sabotage the peaceful environment and interfaith harmony, despite arrest of alleged blasphemer. He said goal of peaceful Pakistan could be achieved by spreading the teachings of Sufism. He said Islam teaches patience and tolerance.
The PST leader said protection of minorities was the collective responsibility. He said the accused Sawan Masih confessed that he had passed sacrilege comments about the Prophet (PBHU) in the presence of complainant Shahid Imran and police officials so he should be punished according to law.
On the occasion, Allama Razaul Mustafa, Mufti Muhammad Haseeb Qadri, Bashir Yousafi, Tahir Qadri and Muhammad Nawaz Qadri also addressed the protesters. They said that the country was passing through a difficult time and in this phenomenon, the unity of all sects was need of the hour. They alleged that banned outfits were involved in Badami Bagh incident, demanding action against these organisation and their seminaries.
