Three-day book fair at PU

LAHORE  - The Punjab University is organising a three-day book fair at New Campus from March 28, to provide latest books on all subjects to students at a special discount up to 40 per cent on its original price.
PU Chief Librarian Chaudhary Muhammad Hanif told APP here Sunday that 8 different committees each headed by deans have been constituted by the VC Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran for holding the fair in a better way. He said that all desirous leading publishers across the country will be provided sufficient space through balloting at the venue for the display of their latest books on all subjects which he added would be sold to students at least 10 to 40 percent special discount.
He said that CDs and computer gadgets will also be available at affordable prices.
He said that during the last book fair, some of the publishers on his personal request even offered special discount upto 60 percent on certain books.
He said the main purpose of the fair is the provide latest books to students at cheaper rate than market. The chief librarian said 130,000 books of different subjects were sold in 3-day during the last book fair.
He said that now at least 150 stalls will be established.
