LAHORE  - Punjab University Institute of Applied Psychology (IAP) organized a seminar on awareness about the role of Health Psychologist in public sector and medical setting. Director IAP Prof Dr Rukhsana Kausar, Health Psychologist at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital Ms Nasira Hayat, Assistant Professor at IAP Ms Asma Yousaf, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion. Nasira Hayat and Asma Yousaf highlighted the need and effective role played by psychologist in health care at preventive and intervention level. Dr Rukhsana emphasized the increasing demand of Health Psychologist in medical setting based on biopsychosocial model and appreciated the efforts of trainees and the program coordinators team, Dr Fatima Kamran and Ms Omama Tariq, in arranging an informative program. The program involved presentation about the need to develop awareness about the significance of Health Psychology for general public, especially people with physical illness.
