Rajwana felicitates PUJ body

LAHORE - Punjab Governor Malik Rafique Rajwana has congratulated the newly elected office bearers of Punjab Union of Journalists (PUJ).
Hamid Riaz Dogar, Muhammad Rehman Bhutta, Afzaal Hashmi, Asghar Ch, Azhar Awan and Malik Arshad Aasim were elected president, general secretary, vice-presidents and joint secretary respectively in PUJ’s elections held last Wednesday.
The governor has expressed the hope that newly elected body of PUJ will promote responsible journalism and serve the community. He also lauded media’s role in bringing about positive changes across the world

3 terrorists granted remand

LAHORE - An anti terrorism court yesterday granted physical remand of three persons allegedly involved in terrorism activities.
The suspects include Sadiq Abbasi, Hidayatullah and Sajid. As hearing commenced, officials of the department produced the suspects before the court under strict security. A deputy prosecutor told the court that the CTD recovered explosive materials in huge quantity from the custody of the suspects. The officials sought 14-day physical remand of the suspects to complete investigation.
The court accepted the plea and handed them over to CTD officials for 14-day physical remand.

Breeders convention at zoo

LAHORE - Lahore Zoo will arrange Breeders Convention today (Saturday) for improving the system of artificial breeding of animals and birds and resolving problems of persons related to this sector. Representatives of 105 breeding farms will attend the convention. Info regarding artificial breeding of animals will be provided to the breeders.
