Forego your ego for alliance, PML-Q to Opp leaders

LAHORE - Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Ch Parvez Elahi has said for alliance, the opposition parties will have forego ego and give preference to collective and national interests over personal and party interests.

The former chief minister, while talking to party leaders and workers at his residence here yesterday, said that progress and prosperity do not come with show off projects but with mega projects of well-being and welfare of the people and provision of employment.

“Undoubtedly all the opposition leaders are aware of dangers and challenging confronting the nation and the country but to stop these dangers and challenges from increasing, they will have to come on one page and platform. All parties will have to go together instead of singing own song and announcing protest separately, and will have to block way of those who are isolating country internationally, establishing kingdom in the name of democracy, establishing own monopoly on every institution and sacrificing national interests for personal interests otherwise patriotic people,” Elahi added.

For welfare and prosperity of the particularly the poor, workers and farmers and establishing supremacy of democracy, constitution and law, all parties will have to end their mutual differences, he further stressed.

Looking at the history of Pakistan, Parvez Elahi said, it becomes very clear that the way of opposition alliance was always adopted for getting rid of the self-centered rulers and the end result was success. “We are emphasising on an alliance between all opposition parties from day one but the government is drawing full benefit from chaos among them,” he further commented.
