Woman shot dead by ex

LAHORE - A 30-year-old woman was shot dead by her ex-husband in the Manga Mandi area on early Thursday, police said. The body was removed to the morgue for autopsy.
Ali Ahmed, the second husband of the deceased, told the police that Zaman and his accomplice, Nasir, forced their entry into his house located in the Sham Kay Bhattian area and opened straight fire on his wife, Saima Bibi.
The woman sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, where she was pronounced as brought dead. Police said that Saima had been residing with her second husband, Ali Ahmed, after getting divorce from her fist husband Zaman.
The killers managed to escape from the crime scene. The police have registered a murder case and are investigating with no arrest made so far.
Dacoities
Dacoits continued their looting spree and looted four houses in different parts of the Punjab capital and made off with cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth four million rupees, police sources claimed.
Five gunmen barged into the house of Sufian in the Ghalib Market police vicinity and took away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs1.3 million after holding the inmates’ hostage at gunpoint.
Four robbers equipped with automatic weapons walked into the house of Muhammad Abid in the Mustafa Town police precincts in the wee hours of Thursday. The bandits held up the family members at gunpoint and snatched away cash and gold ornaments worth Rs one million. The police reached the spot when the bandits had escaped.
Four armed bandits forced their entry into the house of Hafiz Jamal in the Township police area and escaped after collecting cash and gold ornaments worth Rs900000 at gunpoint.
Arslan told the police that three robbers burst into his house located in the Iqbal Town police area and held up all the family members at gunpoint. They collected cash and gold ornaments worth Rs800000 and fled away instantly.
Meanwhile, armed bandits riding on motorcycles and equipped with pistols looted motorists, families and passersby in the Iqbal Town, Shalimar, Garhi Shahu, Gulberg, Johar Town, Shafiqabad, Defense-A, Green Town, Model Town, and Old Anarkali police limits on Thursday and snatched away cash and gold ornaments worth three million rupees. Also, three cars were stolen away from Johar Town, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Liaqatabad police area while seven motorcycles were either snatched or stolen away from Gulberg, Shadman, Lower Mall, Tibbi City, Islampura, Kahna and New Anarkali police limits. The police are investigating.
Swindled
Unidentified swindlers robbed 10 people in different parts of the provincial metropolis and escaped after collecting their belongings including cash and mobile phones worth tens of thousands of rupees, police sources said on Thursday.
Police said that the swindlers separately served some intoxicated food to the victims in the Data Darbar, Lahore Railways station, and Niazi Adda bus stand areas and took away their belongings after they fell unconscious.
The victims, mostly passengers, were rushed to local hospitals, where their condition was reported to be out of danger. The police are investigating with no arrest made yet.
