Overcharging: District Govt seals 24 clinical labs in Lahore

The district administration continued crackdown against private laboratories involved in overcharging from dengue patients and sealing the 24 labs arrested the owners and staff. According to details, the district administration upon complaints of the citizens conducted raids at private clinical labs located in Ferozpur and other areas of the city. During crackdown 24 laboratories allegedly involved in overcharging against the Rs.90, the fee fixed by the provincial government, were sealed and staff and owners of the labs were arrested. Its worth mentioning that 69 clinical laboratories have been sealed so for across the city for overcharging. Home Secretary Punjab has also extended the section 144 for further one month so as to deal with the situation created after dengue fever outbreak which has played havoc in the province, particularly in the provincial capital. On the other hand notices have been issued to 850 service stations of the city to ensure precautionary measures against the dengue outspread. The district government has also directed the plants nurseries owners to take steps to control the growth of the dengue mosquito.
