OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Justice Umar Ata Bandial of the Lahore High Court on Tuesday issued notice to PML-N MNA Khawaja Saad Rafiq on a petition moved by PML(Q) leader Humayun Akhtar wherein he has questioned the technical-based dismissal of his plea against Saad. Through the present petition Humayun prays for deciding the earlier filed case against Khwaja Saad on merits. The petitioner has sought disqualification of the respondent as MNA on the ground that he has concealed the true volume of his assets from the Election Commission in the last general elections. Through Chaudhry Fawad Humayun Akhtar advocate the petitioner prays for restoring his earlier petition to decide the same on merit in view of the fact the case involved interests of a large number of voters of the constituency petitioner and the respondent had contested elections from. Humayun Akhtar Khan, who had lost his general election to Khawaja Saad in NA-125 Lahore, had accused Saad Rafiq of concealing his assets at time of filing nomination papers and also not disclosing from where he earned huge money. He said Saad claimed that he got huge money after winning prize bonds of Rs40.37 million during 2003 to 2007, however, did not mention details of prizes before election commission.
