LAHORE  - Jamiat Ulma-e-Pakistan president Pir Ijaz Hashmi has vowed to continue struggles following the footprints of the party elders for the enforcement of Sharia law in the country.
Addressing the party organised “Nizam-e-Mustafa Convention” at Aiwan-e-Iqbal on Sunday, he said the Ahlesunnah scholars like Shah Ahmed Noorani, Khawaj Qamaruddin, Maulana Abdustar Khan Niazi struggled throughout their lives for making Pakistan the fort of Islam but the secular lobby with the help of the western power always opposed them and attacked the ideological boundaries of the country.  
It was the need of the hour to speed up the efforts started by the elders of Ahlesunnah and turn Pakistan into an Islamic welfare state vision by Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal, he added.
JUP secretary general Shah Awais Noorani, Qari Zawar Bahadar, Mufti Ibrahim and others scholars also spoke on the occasion. The JUP delegates from different cities of the country participated in the convention.
Shah Awais, on the occasion, said the JUP’s reorganisation continued across the country and vowed to complete the mission of the party elders. He said the operation in Karachi must be without discrimination. He held the terrorists were moving free in Karachi and people were feeling insure. Shah Awais said his party wanted continuity in democracy but the elections should be held free and fair.
The JUP termed the war in Yemen as conspiracy of West to start sectarian war between Muslim countries and demanded of the Pakistan government to play its role for establishment of peace and harmony among Muslim countries.
The JUP said the Kashmir was a jugular vein of Pakistan and condemned Indian atrocities in the occupied valley.
The convention through a resolution termed the death sentence to Mumtaz Qadri – the the murderer of Punjab former governor Salman Taseer – as against the Quran and Sunnah.
The JUP vowed to stand with the Pakistan army against in its operation against terrorists.
The JUP asked the political parties to present proofs of rigging in general election before the Judicial Commission and demanded of the transparent election on the basis of proportional representation in future.
The party demanded of the “end in illegal actions by the law enforcement agencies against religious seminaries” and called it as an act against Islam which had been started on the pressure of western powers.
