Four shot dead in Lahore

LAHORE - Four people including a woman were murdered in separate incidents in the provincial metropolis, police said Tuesday.
Two people were shot dead and another wounded critically over love-marriage in Gujjarpura. Police said that Razzaq along with his three accomplices forced his entry into the shop of his brother-in-law, Muhammad Nadeem, in China Scheme and opened indiscriminate fire. As a result, Nadeem, and his friends, Abdul Rahman and Rana Ijaz, sustained serious bullet wounds. They were rushed to hospital, where Nadeem and Rahman were pronounced dead while the condition of Ijaz was said to be critical till Tuesday night. The gunmen fled from the crime scene.
Police investigators said that Nadeem had contracted love marriage with the sister of Razzaq and later he had divorced her. Police have removed the bodies to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating with no arrest made yet.
In another incident, a man was gunned down over old enmity in Batapur. Police said that gunmen forced their entry into the house of Abdul Nasir in Mundiana Village and opened fire at him.
The man sustained multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot while the gunmen fled from the scene. The deceased family said that Abdul Nasir had developed old enmity with Afzal. Eyewitnesses told the police Afzal along with his accomplices carried out the gun attack in daylight. Police reached the spot while the killers had escaped.
The body was moved to the morgue for autopsy.
Meanwhile, a mother of five was shot dead by her nephew over property dispute in Kahna. Police investigators said that 40-year-old Ramzana Bibi was shot dead by Muhammad Nawaz at her house located in Laliyani. The killer had property dispute with the widow. Police reached the spot and removed the body to the morgue for autopsy. The killer fled from crime scene. Further investigation was underway.
