LAHORE - A 27-year-old man was shot dead by his friends near Thokar Niaz Baig in Hanjarwal police precincts yesterday.

Police identified the victim as Aqeel Abbas. His family told the police that one Ali Zain called Aqeel somewhere near Thokar Nazi Baig, where he with the help of his accomplices shot and killed Abbas.

According to the victim’s family, Abbas was killed by his friend over some monetary dispute.

The body was moved to the morgue for an autopsy.

The police yesterday filed a murder case against Ali Zain and his accomplices. Further investigations were underway. No arrest was made till filing of this report.
