Turkish PM visit to boost trade ties

LAHORE - Turkish Prime Minister Recip Tayyab Erdogan during his three-day visit to Pakistan will arrive in the City on Dec 23rd where he would preside over the Business Forum to be participated by the businessmen of the two countries besides, high officials functionaries of the two countries.
The Lahore visit of the Turkish Prime Minister would be a continuation of the journey both countries embarked on to promote their economic and trade ties side by side strengthening the brotherly bonds between the two people.
The Turkish Prime Minister is leading a delegation comprising Ministers, businessmen, and entrepreneurs and  the during the City visit, both the countries are expected to ink bilateral agreements on coal power projects, construction of dams and on the projects in the transportation sector at the official level besides agreements of cooperation between the individual businessmen on both sides in various areas particularly textiles, cement, tourism, production of defence related items, solar and wind energy and housing.
After achieving the GSP+ status, Pakistan may urge Turkey to relax duty on the textile goods of Pakistan although Turkish law does not allow the PTA waiver on textile imports.
An agreement for cooperation in the construction of Lahore-Karachi Motorway is also on the cards during the visit of Turkish Prime Minister who will also have an overnight stay in the City.
To receive the distinguished guests, the City government is planning to elaborately decorate the City roads, official buildings and the adjoining gardens.
The Chief Minister will also host a reception in honour of the Turkish PM and his delegation.
