LAHORE – After inconclusive talks with Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Health, Young Doctors Association Punjab has announced to continue strike at OPDs of public sector hospitals across the province including the City to press for the demand of revised service structure.
Special Assistant and Health Department officials tried to convince YDA Punjab to call off strike but it stuck to its demand of immediate issuance of notification regarding revised service structure.
Prior to the talks, healthcare providers forcibly closed down OPDs of public sector hospitals on the second consecutive day on Tuesday, causing huge inconvenience to the suffering humanity. Young doctors forcibly stopped seniors from attending patients at OPDs.
The visiting patients left with no other option except to go to nearby private clinics for treatment.
Several incidents of exchange of harsh arguments between doctors and attendants of visiting patients were witnessed at almost all tertiary care hospitals in the City.
