LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday took stern action over the death of Hafiz Rashid who was strangled on kite string in Badami Bagh area and ordered suspension and removal from service of DSP Shafiqabad and SHOs Badami Bagh and Ravi Road. The Chief Minister also ordered SP City Imtiaz Sarwar as OSD and directed that police officers guilty of negligence regarding implementation of the ban on kite flying be proceeded under PEEDA as they deserve no leniency. He said that death of an innocent youth due to kite string is extremely tragic. He said that kite flying will not be tolerated and police and district administration should ensure strict implementation of the law in this regard. The Chief Minister said that strict action will be taken without any discrimination against the concerned officers in case of complaint of kite flying from any area.
