JUP demands ban on obscene TV programmes

LAHORE  : Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) in its meeting has passed resolutions demanding ban of programmes of TV channels which are vulgar.
The meeting held on Monday was presided over by JUP President Pir Ijaz Ahmed Hashmi whereas Sahibzada Shah Awais Noorani, Prof Javed Awan, Qari Zawar Bahadur and others attended.
The resolutions passed on the occasion read; JUP condemns all such programmes which are having blasphemous content and spreading obscenity in the name of morning shows. It reads; JUP demands immediate ban on all such programmes.
It was decided in the meeting that JUP will observe protest day on May 23 against the so-called media. It was demanded in the meeting that clash between the national institutions should be halted as this confrontation is very harmful for the country.
