Ajoka’s four-day fiesta concludes

LAHORE - After four day of spell bound performance, the Ajoka theatre’s annual drama festival - “Reclaiming Our History” - concluded on a high note yesterday.

The festival ended with the performance on historic play “Kabira Khara Bazar main” based on the life story of Sufi saint Bhagat Kabir. It was written by Bisham Sahni and direction was given by Indian director Kewal Dhaliwaal who also paid visit from Amritsar.

The play highlighted the message of religious harmony, tolerance and peace. It was well received by audience who admired the theme and message of play.

Congratulating Ajoka on its 32nd anniversary, Kewal said the audience always awaited Ajoka’s performance in India, and its role for promotion of theatre and cultural activities is well acclaimed across the border.

Ajoka’s play Bullah proved fresh breeze to enhance peace and collaboration between Pakistan and India. Kewal said he enjoyed working with Ajoka team and will keep on in future.

The four-day festival proved a real source of entertainment for the audience of Lahore. Despite severe heat wave, the Alhamra hall remained packed for all the four days; especially the youth excitedly participated.
