Man dies in Central Jail mysteriously

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE A 30-year-old jailbird died mysteriously in Central Jail on Wednesday. Police investigators said that one Maqsood Ahmed, son of Nazeer Ahmed and resident of Faqeerabad, Peshawar, was imprisoned in connection with a case lodged with Kotwali police station in Sialkot. After his imprisonment, he was suffering sickness for the last couple of days and on Wednesday he breathed his last. Yes, we shifted him to the Services Hospital where he died, police said, adding his body is being shifted to his native town. found strangled: A 35-year-old unidentified man was found strangled to death in Nawab Town police area on Wednesday. Police concerned, however, claimed the deceased was a drug addict and the main reason of his death was excessive usage of drugs. Earlier, the body of the deceased was found from an empty plot located near Shaukat Khanum Hospital. After recovering the body, police announced in nearby mosques but none of the citizens owned the body. Youth found dead: A 22-year-old unidentified youth was found dead on Ferozepur Road in Kot Lakhpat police precincts on Wednesday. Police investigators said the body of the deceased, yet to be identified, was lying on nearby road of the General Hospital. After recovering the body, the police made numerous announcements in local mosques but none of the citizens claimed to own the body, which was later removed to the City morgue.
