Shujaat for unity to make Pakistan prosperous

Lahore - PML-Q President Ch Shujaat Hussain has called for unity to make Pakistan a prosperous state, says a press release.
Addressing the public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan, he stressed the need for brushing aside personal interests for larger national interest. Tariq Bashir Cheema, Ch Zaheeruddin Khan, Ahmad Yar Heraj, Haleem Adil Shaikh, Ajmal Wazir, Zulfiqar Ghumman, Khadija Farooqi, Amna Ulfat, Syeda Majida Zaidi, Kanwal Naseem and other leaders accompanied him.
Counting his party’s feat, Shujaat said he and former Punjab CM Pervaiz Elahi did the best for public during the Musharaf regime. He cited bringing in Rescue-1122, Ring Road and other development projects during his party’s rule.  However, he said a number of public problems remained unsolved. He took a swipe at the ruling PML-N saying that the government was responsible for the Model Town tragedy. He said his party joined hands with PAT to help bring culprits to book. He said the 65-day sit-in in the federal capital show people standing firm against brutality. Moreover, he stressed that the sit-in gave a wake-up call against oppression.
The PML president said Ch Pervaiz Elahi challenged Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to TV debate on government performance.
"I would even say that he (Shahbaz Sharif) should come to have a debate in public at Minar-e-Pakistan,” Shujat added. He said: “The Defence Minister kept hurling abuses at the Army on the floor of the assembly but it was unfortunate Prime Minister Nawaz Shairf and his Defence Ministry speak softly against India.”
