Rulers continue to deceive masses: PTI

LAHORE - President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Women Wing Punjab Saloni Bokhari and Information Secretary Talat Naqvi have said that the rulers have resorted once again to deceive the suffering people by openly discussing the 19th Amendment. In a joint statement issued here on Tuesday, they said rulers had distorted the 1973 Constitution completely to safeguard their personal interests. The PTI leaders said those who had stated that the 18th Amendment was unanimously agreed, had disregarded and negated 10 persons who laid down their precious lives and the thousands of protesters who had taken to the streets. They said PPP and PML-N were two names for the same party with the same ideology and their leaders were now trying to save face by debating on 19th Amendment. They said the rulers had snatched bread out of the mouths of the common citizens and had forced them to commit suicide. APCA protest rally All Pakistan Clerk Association (APCA) observed scheduled strike at all offices on Tuesday to press for their demands. The APCA is demanding 200 per cent raise in the salary and also decrease in the price of petrol, electricity and gas. Clerk also staged a rally from Environment office to Gaddafi stadium. Addressing the rally, clerk leaders Haji Irshad, Ch Abdul Shakoor and others said that as per the promises made by the president, prime minister and the finance minister, their salaries were to be raised as par with the relevant staff in judiciary, police and the army, but nothing has been done so far. The protestors shouted slogans against the government on the occasion and said no measures were being taken to regularise the UHS contract employees despite of the assurance by the Speaker Punjab Assembly. Crushed to death A woman, mother of three, was crushed to death when a train hit her while crossing the railway lines in Mustafabad Area, police said on Tuesday. Police investigators said the deceased Robina Sayed, 30, was crossing the railway lines when the train hit her, as a result she died on the spot. He said her husband Sayed Ibrahim was a headmaster. Police shifted the body to City mortuary for autopsy.
