LAHORE – PPP leaders on Monday said the party leadership respects judiciary which, however, never gives decisions against the dictatorial elements in the past after they came to power making inroad into the civil side in the dark of night. “The PPP leadership does not believe in personal rule but rule of democracy in the course of which it is acting in letter and spirit on the charter of democracy,” said PPP Punjab President Imtiaz Safdar Warriach, Adviser to PM AJK Ghulam Mohyuddin Dewan and Muhammad Saleem Moghal, Information Secretary Peoples Labour Bureau. They said PPP’s mission was to strengthen the institutions. Ruling out the possibility of change of government they said, elections would take place in time and the parliament would complete its term. Under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, they said, PPP was serving the masses to ensure to food, clothe and shelter to them. They said the PPP knew well how to protect democracy therefore those who went abroad seeking pardon from the dictator, need not teach it on this count. They warned the masses against those who blame the PPP for supporting the dictators and said such elements were conspiring against the party. “Governance in the present time is not an easy job but despite that the party leadership realizes woes of the masses and is doing its utmost to address them,” they added. However, they said, continuation of the political process was a must for a sustained democracy which was a guarantee to peace, prosperity, and development in the country.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
