Imran calls for unity against terrorism

LAHORE – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf chairman, Imran Khan on Wednesday appealed to the nation to stand firm and united against the agents of terror, as extremists were targeting the ideology and the very existence of the country.
He made this appeal through a press statement to condemn the blast in Ahmed Deen Brohi village near Jacobabad, which resulted in the death of Shafiq Hussain Shah, grandson of Pir of Qambar Sharif.
Imran said that secessionist groups, religious and a weak government response, had turned the country into one of the most dangerous in the world.
He demanded the authorities to immediately bring culprits to justice and the government should take all measures to bring peace and stability in the country.
Imran said that such attacks against spiritual leaders violate the sanctity of Islam.
The PTI chairman said that the dangerous upsurge of sectarian and ethnic violence in recent months has turned into a full-blown conflict.
Intra-party polls: The PTI Ideological Group Wednesday named Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed as candidate for City president in the second phase of intra-party polls and Hafiz Farhat Abbas for general secretary.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Rasheed along with members of his camp also announced other 23 candidates of their group for the Lahore organization party polls. On this occasion, dozens of party leaders elected for the union council organizations.
He claimed that ideological group would secure majority in the party polls for tehsils, towns and districts of Punjab to be held on February 26.
