Mules captured with 15-kg heroin

LAHORE  - Anti-Vehicles Lifting Staff (AVLS) of the Lahore police on Friday claimed to have arrested a ‘couple’ after recovering 15-kilogram heroin from their possession.
A police spokesperson said that on the orders of SSP (Investigations) Rana Ayyaz Saleem, the AVLS had launched special crackdown against the criminals by setting up surprise pickets in Lahore.
A police team headed by in-charge AVLS Model Town stopped a suspected car at Thokar Niaz Baig. During checking, the policemen recovered 30 packets of heroin stashed in different parts of the vehicle. The police also arrested the couple identified as Jahanzaib Pathan and Shazia Bibi. During initial investigations, the arrested drug-pushers told the police that they had been supplying drugs in the black market in Lahore, Faisalabad, and Vehari districts for the last several months. Further investigation was underway.
