Pakistani duo in Nepal Badminton final

LAHORE - Pakistan's national doubles champions Rizwan Azam and Mohammad Atiq reached the finals of men's double event of the Nepal Badminton International Series. Mixed doubles pairs of Rizwan Azam and Sara Mohmand and Mohammad Atiq and Palwasha Basheer reached the semi-finals. Pakistan's doubles pair of Rizwan Azam and Mohammad Atiq, No.1 seed in men's doubles beat the Indian pair of Francis Alwin and Gopan Shankar in straight sets by the score of 21-5, 21-10 in the semi finals. In mixed double quarter-finals, Rizwan Azam and Sara Mohamand beat Shreshta Sujana and Chand Pankaj of Nepal in straight sets by the score of 21-10, 21-14.In the other quarter-final, Mohammad Atiq and Palwasha Basheer beat Mehata Indra and Khaling Samjhana of Nepal in a hard-fought three sets by the score of 21-18, 18-21, 21-17.Wajid Ali lost his semi-final in men's singles to national ranked Indian player Vidyadhar in three sets by the score of 15-21, 21-17 & 13-21. Aamer Hayat Khan Rokhri, Secretary General Pakistan Badminton Federation and Syed Naqi Mohsin, Senior vice president PBF, congratulated the Pakistan team for reaching the finals and conveyed them wishes of success.
