PU holds debate on religious intolerance



LAHORE - Punjab University Pakistan Study Centre’s Character Building Society organised debate on Religious Intolerance in Pakistan at its committee room on Wednesday in the wake of recent incident of Joseph Colony.
Faculty members and students of M.Phil programme were present on the occasion. The participants debated the issue in the context of religious, constitutional and social aspects. Verses of Holy Quran and the teaching of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) related to religious tolerance were displayed during the presentations delivered by the students.
All the students condemned intolerance and extremism in the society. Suggestions and recommendations were prepared and students also proposed the need of social campaign against the issue and stressed that all walks of life especially academia and youth should come forward in this regard.
