LAHORE - Advisor to Prime Minister Engineer Ameer Muqam on Thursday met with Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and discussed with him matters of mutual interest and overall security situation in the country. The chief minister said that Pakistan was passing through a critical phase and government was making sincere efforts for resolving energy crisis and elimination of extremism. He said all issues would be resolved through collective wisdom and concerted efforts and government would come up to the expectations of the masses. He said economic situation of the country has improved due to effective strategy of the government. Shahbaz said no effort will be spared for making Pakistan a haven of peace and prosperity. Ameer Muqam said the PML-N government was working sincerely to deal with the challenges being faced by the country and Pakistan will be put on the road to progress and prosperity under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. JI WELCOMES SC DECISION FOR LB ELECTIONSJamaat-i-Islami Secretary General Liaquat Baloch has welcomed the Supreme Court order for holding the Local Bodies elections in the provinces by November 15 next. In a statement here on Thursday, he said that the governments in Sindh, Punjab and KP have ample time for legislation while the Election Commission should complete the delimitations well in time.
