Wife burnt body of husband, hears inquest

LAHORE – A 24-year-old woman has confessed that she along with her accomplices electrocuted her husband and later set the  body on fire to conceal his identity, police said on Tuesday.
“We have arrested all the four people for killing a 35-year-old man in a cold blood. The wife of the deceased property dealer committed the crime along with her fella,” police officer, Iqbal Hussain Shah, told The Nation.
Six days ago, the police recovered a charred body from a pile of garbage in Chand Mari ground in Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate Area. The police registered the case and began investigation.
The woman, identified as Tanzeela Bibi, told the investigators that she had planned the killing of her husband, later identified as Raja Azhar Mumtaz, since he used to torture her over domestic issues.
According to DSP Sabzazar Circle, the woman also admitted that her fella Nauman, his cousin, Kaleem, and their servant, Pervaiz, were the accomplices in the killing. The police are also interrogating Nauman, Kaleem, and Pervaiz, who have confessed to the police that they had committed the murder.
Tanzeela also told the police that on the day incident, she had mixed drugs in the alcohol and presented it to her husband. As the man fell unconscious, the woman along with her accomplices electrocuted him, and took the dead body to the Chand Mari ground. The killers threw the dead body on a pile of garbage, set it alight, and fled away.
In the meantime, the Hanjarwal police registered the kidnapping case of Raja Azhar against unidentified men on the complaint of his brother-in-law.
