LAHORE : The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) society Qirtaas arranged sketching and calligraphy contests as part of Iqbal Day on Thursday.  
Renowned poet Zahid Shamsi delivered the lecture in which he urged the students to play their role to the service to humanity and also talked about the various aspect of Fikr-e-Iqbal.
Speaking on the ocassion Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha lauded the effort of the Qirtaas society. Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf and a large number of Students from various departments present on the occasion.
In sketching contest, Fatima Khan got first position, Faiqa Munir grabbed second while Abu Bakker got third position. In calligraphy contest, Haseeb Ahmed got first position, Ahtram Bloch 2nd while Abeera stood on third position. Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf gave away certificates to the winners.
