Mass marriage ceremony held


LAHORE – Khushi Foundation organised a collective marriages ceremony of 100 couples at Aiwan-e-Iqbal organised by Khushi Foundation on Thursday.
Punjab Minister for Education Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman was the chief guest on the occasion. He said those persons, who dedicate their lives and resources for social welfare, were the assets of the society and government would provide all out cooperation and assistance to such people as well as NGOs. He said that Punjab Government launched public welfare projects to facilitate the masses since the formation of govt, however, he emphasized the need for launching a public awareness campaign regarding help of needy persons and philanthropist activities.
The minister said that provincial government under the dynamic leadership of CM Shahbaz Sharif, was providing free medicines, diagnostic and treatment facilities in the public sector hospitals of the province and standardized education to the students, whereas, record funds have been allocated for this purpose to health, education and social sectors.
He said that provincial government was providing maximum funds for the social uplift and public welfare activities and government would encourage the philanthropists to organize such events like collective marriages of needy persons.
