LAHORE - The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed the Interior Ministry and IG Punjab to submit the list of accused persons who were brought back to Pakistan with the help of Interpol during last three months. Justice MA Zafar passed this order after it was informed to him that the police is brining back from UAE a person namely Muhammad Sheraz Hanif, who was allegedly involved in a dacoity, to take revenge on him for contracting marriage with the daughter of an influential person. The court further sought replies from the Interior Ministry and IGP along with incriminating material on the basis of which Sheraz is being repatriated through Interpol. The judge also called personal appearance of advocate general Punjab, Deputy Attorney General, Inspector Ibrar Shah and SI Khadim Hussain along with reports and comments on April 28. The court also reminded the police that constitutional guarantee has been given to every citizen of Pakistan for his life, liberty, reputation and property and these rights should not be breached except in accordance with law. The petitioner, Muhammad Hanif through his counsel Sarfraz Cheema said that his son Muhammad Sheraz Hanif contracted marriage with Hina Akram, daughter of Rana Akram on May 11, 2007 against her familys will. After the marriage, girls father made the lives of Sheraz and his family miserable, his household articles were looted by the police and number of times the petitioner was given severe beating by the police on one pretext or the other. He alleged that Inspector Ibarar Shah conducted raids at his house. The petitoner pointed out that his son had shifted to Dubai due to the fear of death at the hands of Rana Akram who has close links with police high-ups and government officials. Despite the fact that petitioners son had divorced Hina after her father exerted extreme pressure on him and had severed all contacts with her, Sheraz was arrested by the CIA police on April 10 to take revenge and was released on the intervention of CCPO Lahore hours before his marriage. The petitioner submitted that to further victimise his family, his son Sheraz is being brought to Pakistan through Interpol on the pretext that he is required in a dacoity case registered in 2007 with Iqbal Town Police Station. He pointed out that his son was not named in the FIR and was implicated in the case on the supplementary statement of complainant. The petitioner feared that his son would be murdered in fake police encounter after brining back to Pakistan.
