Another child dies of measles, death toll in the city mounts to 54

Death toll due to measles in Lahore mounted to 54 as another innocent child died of the epidemic here on Monday.
The 14-month child gave up to the outbreak at Children’s Hospital of the provincial capital. The deceased belonged to the Rana Town area of the city.
The situation seems to have gone out of control of the authorities, who also seem least concerned to tackle the problem.
Last year, absence of vaccination was blamed on the surge of the issue, and now the indifferent approach of those at the helm of affairs seems to be the actual problem.
It may be mentioned here the number of affected children in Punjab has reached the mark of 8,500.
