Hizb man held from PU

LAHORE - The Muslim Town police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a leader of Hizb-ut-Tehrir, a banned outfit, from a Punjab University hostel.
Talking to the media, Muslim Town SHO Nasir Hameed said that the police raided the canteen in hostel No 14 and arrested a man for distributing jihadi literature among university students. The arrested man, identified as Sheryar Anjum, is president of banned outfit’s Punjab chapter, the SHO added.
According to details, the 30-year-old man hails from Hyderabad and working as Marketing executive in a private company.
During preliminary interrogation, Sheryar stated he doesn’t accept the constitution of Pakistan; for the very reason he was distributing the extremist literature to lure students.
Police have launched a case against him and will present him in court soon.
