50 booked for ransacking Dr Firdous Ashiqs office

OUR STAFF REPORTER SIALKOT - The Civil Lines police have registered a case against as many as 50 unknown accused mobsters for attacking and ransacking the Camp Office of Federal Minister for Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan in Christian Town on Friday while protesting against the 20 hour long daily power outages in Sialkot. According to the FIR lodged by local PPP leader Malik Imtiaz under sections 147, 149, 427 and 452 PPC, more than 50 unknown armed mobsters attacked and ransacked the Camp Office of Firdous in Sialkot. They also tore the giant portraits of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Firdous displayed there, beside, breaking furniture and hurling stones. Meanwhile, the hundreds of the PPP workers Saturday took rally in Sialkot city as a protest against the said nasty incident of ransacking the federal information ministers sub office. The rally began from Allama Iqbal Chowk and ended at Kutchery Chowk Road. Later, the protesting PPP workers also staged a peaceful sit-in in Kutchery to lodge strong protest against this nasty incident. They were carrying banners and placards and they also chanted anti-police slogans.
