LAHORE – Punjab Highways Patrol (PHP) claimed to have seized hashish worth Rs. 170m on Monday.
According to the details, PHP Head Panjnand, Muzaffargarh Muzaffaragarh, received information about a suspicious trailer (7835/LXP). PHP arranged a picket and flagged it down it but the driver did not and accelerated. In his attempt to escape it over turned. PHP team arrested the driver Ghulam Abbas of Multan and his   helper Ameer Ahmed of Rajanpur.
PHP team recovered 230 bags of hashish (4592-KG) worth Rs 170m. DPO Muzaffargarh acknowledged the efforts of the PHP team and rewarded them with Rs 5000 each.
Head Constable Munir Ahmed, Constable Amir Fiaz, Akram Shahid, Atif and Sageer were on the shift. The Additional IG/PHP Khan Baig and DIG/PHP Abubakar Khuda Bakhsh also appreciated the personnel. The hashish was filled in match boxes and was bound for Karachi from Peshawar.
Meanwhile, City police raided a brothel-cum-guesthouse situated in Chunhg police area and arrested 13 women, including stage-dancers, and 31 men in objectionable condition late on Sunday night, police sources said on Monday.
The police raided Asad guesthouse located in Sher Shah Colony and arrested 13 women including stage dancer Nimra, and models Ayesha, Tahira and others. The police also nabbed 31 men, mostly drunk, and shifted them to the police station.
The police have also registered the case and are investigating.
